Why we're starting with three audiences

Hiring only works when job seekers, employers and recruiters all show up. We're building for all three, and building recruiter density first, inside technology specialisms.

Hiring doesn't work with one side missing. A job seeker with no employers has a search box with nothing behind it. An employer with no candidates has an empty pipeline. A recruiter needs both. So JobMedium is built for all three.

Why recruiters come first

Building for three audiences doesn't mean recruiting all three at once. We're deliberately building recruiter density first, because a role only gets filled when it meets someone who knows its market. Specialist recruiters bring that knowledge, and they bring the client searches and candidate relationships the rest of the network needs.

One specialism at a time

Density only counts inside a market. Fifty recruiters spread across fifty specialisms is nobody, as far as any single employer is concerned. So we're building depth in technology hiring one specialism at a time, starting with software engineering, before moving on to the next.

Where employers and job seekers fit

Employers and job seekers are part of the network from day one, and a candidate who applied directly sits in the same pipeline as one a recruiter introduced. We're just being honest about the order: recruiters first, because they're the part that makes the other two work.

What this means for founding members

Whichever side you come from, founding terms apply. If you're a specialist recruiter, this is the moment when being early counts most.
